Ricky approached us with a bold vision: to create a Lebanese bakery and cafe in Padstow that was more than just a place to eat, it was a destination. With decades of experience in the industry, he wanted to move away from the traditional pizza shop model and craft a vibrant, welcoming space that reflected his outgoing personality and deep community ties. From the very first conversation, it was clear that Ricky’s energy was at the heart of the brand.
Translating personality, visually
The goal was to create a cafe that felt modern, youthful, and fun, yet still approachable for local families and workers. It needed to be warm, personable, and Instagram-ready, blending the vibrancy of Ricky’s personality with a sense of authenticity and quality. Every detail — from the menu inspired by family recipes to the social and community connections — had to tell a story of care, passion, and creativity.
Our challenge was to capture Ricky’s energy and the cafe’s welcoming vibe in a visual system. We developed a grounded, elegant colour palette that reflected the refinement and quality of the food, while the logo introduced soft curves to echo the vibrancy and warmth of the space. Handwritten elements and personal touches throughout the identity conveyed the intimate, homey feel of Ricky’s cafe, making customers feel like they were walking into a space that was both personal and special.

From the logo and colour palette to the handwritten touches that appear on the walls and menus, every element reinforces the cafe’s personality.
